Though he does not want to consider a role as vice president, Pawlenty says he may endorse a candidate later on. He also seemed very supportive of Bachmann’s win in the poll via his Twitter site, and resigned to the fact that his presidential race did not really seem to have a future. He knew that his campaign needed a win in the Ames Straw Poll, but not receiving it made him realize he didn’t have a future in this presidential race.
Previous to this, Pawlenty, lovingly known as T-Paw by his followers, served as the 39th Governor of Minnesota from 2003-2011. He also served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1993-2003 as the majority leader for two terms. He was born in November of 1960, and was striving towards a presidential nomination from the Republican Party, but was no stranger to the fact that the Ames Straw Poll has caused many a presidential hopeful to drop out of the running.
